About New-Food Innovation Ltd

New Food Innovation are agents for Japanese company Insent, who developped and commercialize the electronic tongue. The latest model TS-5000Z is the result of many years work in developing a series of taste sensors each one tuned to an individual taste sense. They are capable of evaluating tastes such as sweet, sour, bitter, salty, umami, astringent and their aftertastes.

There are over 400 installs worldwide working in food, beverage, pharmaceuticals and pet care sectors and in both industrial and academic environments. The machine has found various uses within industry and academia notably product development, bitterness masking in pharma, evaluation of palatants in pet care, food pairing, quality control, shelf life determination, market assessments etc. We have a machine at our site in the University of Nottingham, UK, and can offer contract and demonstration work based on your interest and needs.

Since its formation in 2010, New food Innovation have worked extensively within the interface between the food industry and the Innovation and research communities, building on the years of experience that the founders Alan Marson and Jacek Obuchowicz gained from working within open innovation roles in industry - working in global and major UK branded business.

Not only do we have an appreciation of the challenges facing Industry and academia but also the difficulties both start-ups and emergent technologies have in gaining a foothold in the market
